The End of Summer

Well, folks, it's the end of summer. We start school today.
Here's the deal...I'm ready, but I'm not.
Meaning, the books are ready, the pencils are sharpened, the table is cleared. I've even gotten my lesson plans done for this week. I'm excited to get back into the routine of school and to watch my kids learn.
The only problem is that we've had a great summer and I'm not sure that I'm ready to let that go. We've played, we've gone swimming, The Kids and I have gone on a vacation to Ohio with my mom. We've relaxed and watched TV and played with friends and gone to the library. We've been busy, yet so NOT busy and it had been almost perfect.
Many people get to the end of summer and can't wait to get their kids out of the house all day, and I certainly don't feel like that. I just want to go on watching "Phineas and Ferb" while we eat breakfast and then putter around all day.
But, we will forge on, and it will be a great year.
I'll post some pictures of our first day, and tell you all about our new adventure we're having this school year. It's going to be different!
But for now, I should go and shower before everyone wakes up!

I feel exactly the same way that you do. I am ready to begin a new homeschooling year, but then again I am not. We have had such a laid back summer and I know that it will be hard to get back into the swing of things, but we will do it. Have a wonderful new year and I can't wait to read all about your days.

I felt the same way when I homeschooled. Now I can't wait when school starts. :)
