A Memory

When I graduated from high school, waaaay back in 1993, my mom took me on The Trip of a Lifetime. The first leg was down to Abilene to pick up my aunt and five of her kids and then heading off in their Suburban to visit Aunt Patty in El Paso.

Imagine, if you will, six kids, ranging in age from around five to seventeen, in the back of a Suburban with the seats folded down flat (this was, I guess, before we were all rabid about seatbelts!) travelling for upmpteen jillion hours. I'm sure we were perfect angels...

Imagine, if you will, that same group of kids, plus The Moms, dancing in a wild parade around the Suburban on the side of the highway so that we could stretch our legs.

And while you're imagining that, play the following song. Because, when I hear this song, I am transported back to that crazy time. And it's a sweet, fun, silly, loud, fantastic memory. As most of my memories are with my cousins.
