So, I'm editing this dance recital, right? We've shot for this studio for five years now, and every year I'm amazed at how poorly the girls seem to know their dances. I'm not talking about little 3-year-old girls - they can hardly remember to walk on the stage, let alone do a dance. Plus, they're cute in their awkwardness. (It really makes you realize what a prodigy Shirley Temple was!) I'm talking about 8, 9, and 10-year-olds who spend the entire dance looking into the wings so they can see what the teacher is doing. It's....well, it's pretty bad.

But, as I've edited the recital, I've realized what the problem is! There are at least thirty dances and each girl is probably in at least five of them! Some are in even more! It seems that what the studio should do is cut out half of the dances and let the girls actually learn some routines. That way the parents can watch fifteen really good numbers rather than sitting through thirty bumbling ones!

But, they didn't ask my opinion. So I'll just edit.

That would be horrible to sit through. Madison's gymnastic meets were hard to sit through sometimes, but at least the girls were very well prepared for what they were there to do. We just had to sit through a LOT of rountines to see the few that Madison did during the competition. It was fun, but very tiring at times!

Ugh... coming from a large dance studio I can't imagine that.. we have some girls that are in multiple classes so multiple dances, but mostly just one MAYBE 2 classes /dances!
