Update...

Well, I think Reilly's going to survive the Near Amputation of the End of Her Toe. After a second day of lying on the sofa, watching movies and being fed Tylenol, I finally convinced her to try to hobble. She realized that she could indeed hobble around and was able to have a neighbor friend over to play.

She's probably NOT going to be happy tomorrow when she realizes that we're going to return to school. It might be Sofa School, but I feel like we need to have some type of learning happen this week. And I don't think that Chitty Chitty Bang Bang counts.

One of the dilemmas that I have as a homeschooling mom revolves around sick days. On one hand, since we're AT our "school building" even when one of The Kids is sick, I feel like we should do some sort of school. This feeling was especially magnified the past two days, when the "sickness" didn't involve fever or something of that nature. (It's different if the student is puking!) Plus there's the whole "I've got to get in 180 days of school!" thing hanging over my head. BUT, on the other hand, if she was in public school and had smashed her toe open with a brick, I'd have no qualms whatsoever about keeping her home, probably for an entire week. I know she'd have to make up the homework, but she'd still miss the "lecture"...and this is only second grade. It's not like she's missing the explanation of the Theory of Relativity.

On another note, The Kids went over to my mom's house for a sleepover and she did a candy hunt in her den. She had hid a bunch of candy and then, after it was dark, she gave The Kids flashlights and let them go and search for it. They had a BALL! Declan has had as much fun giving his candy away to me and his Papa and his sister as he had hunting for it. He's so sweet and generous, it really melts my heart!

On ANOTHER note, back in June, our cat Supey was diagnosed has having Feline Infectious Peritonitis, which is a terminal cat disease. The things that I read online about it made it sound like cats with this ailment aren't long for this world.

Hmmmm.....

Yeah...he looks like he's wasting away to nothing, doesn't he?

I call this one "Dreamin'..."

Supey definitely looks like he's not long for this world. :) Y'know, that dreamin' photo would look great in colored pencil and framed. :) I'm just sayin' ...

Oh, and I love your rating system! I looked for my rating and it's PG. Because I use the word "punch" one time in my blog. Can you believe it?

LOL, yeah, my rating is G and it said something about how I used the word "poop"! I'm thinking, "Where in the heck was I talking about poop?"

And I should TOTALLY have your mom do Supey's picture! It would look so great!! Now I just have to gather the funds!
