~ I don't believe that we've ever gotten as much rain in June as we've gotten this year. It has rained each and every day this week! I swear, I'm starting to think we should build an ark! Right now, I have my window open so that I can listen to it patter down. It's really quite nice and relaxing, with long, low rumbles of thunder every once in awhile.
~ Tomorrow is Reilly's first friend's-only birthday party. She's super excited because she's having it at a place where you paint a piece of pottery and they glaze and fire it. AND she's having an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins! (Heck, I'm excited about THAT!) This is actually the first year for several things: the friends only party (last year we combined friends and family), the "real" party (meaning it's not at our house! YAY, I like this one!), and the first year I've not made her cake! (I'm thinking I like this one, too!) Since her birthday isn't until Monday, she decided that she wanted to save the presents from us to open then, and have chicken a'la king as her birthday dinner. I can't believe she's almost 7!!!!
~ Last night at karate, I was sparring my friend Julie. Now, Julie is small and fairly quiet and we've gotten to be good friends through karate and through doing homeschooling things together with our kids. But, let me tell you, put some sparring gear on that girl and she is transformed!! Our instructor got us started and within a few seconds, Julie had darn near knocked off my right boob! I laughed so hard I thought I was going to pass out!! It was a legitimate point, and Mr. Sauder called, "One!" and I wish now that I'd responded, "Yeah! One LESS!" Hahahaha! Now I know why they sell that funny looking body armor for women. Oh, and I learned that I don't keep my arms up well enough!
