I'm Here, I'm Here...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket This week is VBS at the church, so it's been pretty crazy. It's amazing to me how tiring it is to get up, get dressed and eat breakfast immediately, and leave the house. We get home at about 12:30 and I'm ready for an immediate nap!! The Kids have been tired as well, and Reilly has actually napped twice this week. That's unusual for her, as she usually just reads books in her room while Deco naps.
Today, actually, was the last day of VBS and, as much as I love helping out, I'm always relieved when it's over. We go back tonight for the Last Roundup (it was a ranch theme this year) because we do a Mon. through Thurs. schedule, with a Thursday night party instead of having it on Friday morning. This is a relief, as I look forward to staying in my jammies until at least 9:00 tomorrow morning!

What else?

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Ummmm, it's still raining. I don't think it's ever going to stop. I think this is God's way of telling me that I don't need a tan this year. I feel like I live in Seattle. Weird, weird weather...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket I still can't believe that I've not posted anything at all about Reilly's birthday or her party or anything. What kind of mommy blogger am I?

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket I've realized that I have no shame and I'm more than willing to make a total and complete fool out of myself to make someone laugh. I was the main character in the opening skits for VBS this week, a cowgirl named Rowdy who is trying to be a "real" cowboy. This role required me to, among other things, wear a bucket on my head, enter the auditorium in a wheelchair wrapped in bandages (I'd been riding the bucking bronco....oh, and I forgot my crutches which is why I had to substitute the wheelchair), fall down, yodel, play really bad guitar (that wasn't much of a stretch!) and sing offkey at the top of my lungs. It was great!!

VBS can WEAR YOU OUT!!! I love helping and teaching too, but am so glad when it is over. To make the week more tiring, I usually end up with a house full of kids most days of VBS week. Luckily, ours falls during the first week or so after school lets out, so we are still running on the adrenaline high of summer break finally getting here.
I can so picture you playing the role in the play...I'm sure there was no one else who could have done it justice!!!

Oh boy! I'm helping in VBS two weeks from now! I hope it doesn't wear me out this much! I'm always worn out to begin with!

Reading your blog reminded me of the time I helped out with VBS a few years ago. Just reading it wore me out so much remembering that I couldn't comment till today. I will never do VBS again. Okay, maybe when I have grandkids.

Sounds like you had a great time!
