Happy Memorial Day!!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Do you have your umbrella out? Because, I don't know about where YOU live, but where I live, Memorial Day weekend is always about the rain. I know it's supposed to be a big "lake holiday" but I honestly don't know why anyone in my state would bother making plans that involve a boat. Unless you like getting soaked. Because on Memorial Day weekend, it will rain. Period. You'd be better off planning a board game weekend than a barbecue!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket My mom was singing a song with The Kids the other weekend when they went for a sleepover that we used to sing in Sunday school.
"Reilly, Reilly, will you come and follow me, will you come and follow me now? Will you come and be an apostle of mine? Will you come and follow me now?"
"Yes, Lord, yes! Yes, Lord, yes! Yes, Lord, I will come and follow you, follow you wherever you go!"
So she gets to Declan and sings with his name in the song, but he responds by singing, quietly, "No, Lord, No....." My mom stopped and asked him why he was singing that and Declan said, "Well, he might ask me to do something that I don't want to do!" Now, isn't that just the epitome of how so many of us view our walk with God? I know that sometimes I fear really opening myself up to service because God might ask me to do something that I don't want to!

He is the medical director for a missions organization called The Voice of the Martyrs that ministers to persecuted Christians in other countries. I am so in awe of this couple and their commitment...they answered, "Yes, Lord, yes!"

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket I'm going to bed now! I'm tired! Goodnight!

Memorial Day weekend here in Texas is the same. It always rains! I had made the same comment to my sister about people going to the lake on Memorial Day weekend.
